Noques is an online marketplace for South African small businesses. Vendors list their products and sell to customers across the country without building a website, writing code, or paying a monthly fee. The name is how South Africans say it out loud — no queues.

No. The customer pays from their own phone — either ahead of time or standing at your counter — and the card details go straight to Yoco. There is no terminal to rent, no monthly rental, and nothing to set up on your side beyond your bank account for payouts.

Both, and that is the point. An order arrives already paid for and then moves through received, preparing, ready and collected, so you are running the order and taking the money in one place rather than bolting a payment link onto a notebook.

Nothing to join and nothing each month. Noques takes a commission only when you make a sale: 10% on the standard rate, 8% for early adopters, and 2.95% for registered non-profits, which only covers the payment gateway's own costs. If you sell nothing in a month, you pay nothing.

Customers pay by card through Yoco when they check out. The money for your items is held in your Noques wallet, and you request a payout to your bank account from your vendor dashboard. Your balance, every sale behind it, and the commission taken are all itemised there.

No. Your storefront is created for you when you sign up. You add your business name, your logo and your products, and the page is live — there is nothing to design, host or maintain, and no domain to buy.

Small businesses, makers, market traders and non-profits based in South Africa. You do not need to be a registered company to start, and there is no minimum number of products.

Yes. A customer fills one basket from as many vendors as they like and pays once. Noques splits the order behind the scenes so each vendor receives and fulfils only their own part of it.

On your phone. You pay by card in the app when you place the order, so there is nothing to settle at the counter — you collect what you already paid for and walk out. It is the same whether you ordered an hour ahead or while standing in the shop.

No. Creating an account and browsing are free, and you pay only for what you order. The commission is charged to the vendor, not added to your total.

Card payments are handled by Yoco, a South African payment provider. Noques never sees or stores your card number.

Yes. Every order has a status that updates as the vendor accepts and fulfils it, and you can see each vendor's part of a multi-vendor order separately.

Contact the vendor through the order first, since they packed it. If that does not resolve it, Noques can step in, and a refund can never exceed what was actually paid.

No — Noques sells physical products only. A listing has a price, a stock count and photographs, and an order is something a customer collects. There is no calendar, no appointment slot and no way to book time, so a hairdresser, a plumber or a consultant will not find what they need here. Food, groceries, baked goods, handmade items and any other physical stock all fit.

You pay nothing. There is no monthly fee, no listing fee and no minimum. Noques earns a commission on a completed sale and nothing otherwise, so the platform only makes money when you have made money — we grow as you grow.

Minutes. You sign up as a vendor, fill in your business details, and add your first product. Your store is reviewed before it goes live so that the marketplace stays trustworthy for buyers.

The standard rate is 10% per sale. Early adopters are on 8%, registered non-profits on 2.95%, and vendors who apply for and are approved as Featured pay 15% in exchange for boosted placement in search and browsing. Your rate is shown on your dashboard and on every order.

Yes. Noques is built as an app you can install from your browser on Android or iPhone, and the vendor dashboard is designed for a phone first. Orders, stock, payouts and customer messages are all there.

Physical products you can hand over or ship — food, crafts, clothing, beauty, homeware and more. Each listing carries its own price, stock count and photographs.

You do, and you decide how. Noques handles the storefront, the order and the payment; how the item reaches the customer stays between you and them, so collection at a market stall works exactly as well as a courier.

There is no monthly fee, no setup fee and no listing fee. Noques earns a commission when you sell, which means the platform only makes money when you do.

At the point of sale. The commission is deducted from the order before your share reaches your wallet, so the figure you see in your balance is already yours. Every deduction is itemised against the order it came from.

A refund reverses the sale, and a refund can never be for more than the customer actually paid. Your statement shows the original sale and the reversal against each other.

Yes. Registered non-profits can apply for the 2.95% rate, which covers only the payment gateway's costs, and vendors can apply to be Featured at 15% for boosted placement. Your current rate is always visible on your dashboard.

Noques is built and run by IDK Solutions, a South African software company. It was founded by Liam Daries.

Because it is "no queues" written the way it sounds. The idea came from the everyday South African experience of losing an afternoon to a line — at a market stall, a counter, a collection point. Ordering ahead removes the line for the customer and the lost sale for the vendor.
